    How I USE AI

    Created to create

You can’t replace humans. No matter how advanced a tool humans create, it’s like attempting to paint a picture more beautiful than the natural wonders of the world. It’s just not possible.

    But what about AI?

I use AI like an engineer would use a calculator. It helps me write better and faster, but it doesn’t write for me.

It’s a tool I can leverage to be more creative or to come up with a very rough list of ideas, but that’s where its power ends. It can’t replace me as a writer, strategist, organizer, leader, or creative. But it can, indeed, make me better and faster.

    Portfolio

Some details are blocked out to protect clients’ privacy.

Within weeks of joining a creative agency, we were tasked with creating a global event — both the creative and logistics — for an $80B tech company. AI was on the tip of everyone’s tongue, and our response was to tap into the human side of technology. My contribution to this project was developing the theme and messaging, Human Intelligence, and providing copy direction and writing for the deck. The design and icons were created by a brilliant colleague of mine.

Challenged to create resources for salespeople at an $80B global tech company, we created “record” albums highlighting various computer components, new technologies, and sustainability efforts.

These marketing pieces were interactive assets that not only explained the often detailed, sometimes confusing technical information but were also designed to be memorable and fun, not something a prospective customer would easily toss aside.

My contribution to this project was selecting the “record” theme proposed by a colleague, developing assets that mirrored classic vinyl record albums, jackets, and booklets, and serving as the lead copy director and writer. Actual booklets and record jackets are available upon request.

Working with several other departments at a global nonprofit serving children and local communities in 29 countries, including product specialists, donor relations, and experts in international child welfare and development, we created a range of marketing materials for large donors. Their gifts would help launch new child development centers to protect children vulnerable to child abuse, care for expectant moms and babies, and provide medical care.

I also led communications strategy and content creation for a B2B event kit, achieving 254% higher engagement than projected in testing. This was our messaging guidelines document, which we included in the kit. All assets were required to be designed as editable PDFs that could be downloaded and opened in Word or Google Docs for modification. Other assets available upon request.

Leading the content marketing team at a kids’ bike company, I increased content production by 8x in my first 6 weeks.

My role oversaw copy, design, and video, and I also served as the organization’s interim senior copywriter, shaping and protecting the brand voice. This included all digital marketing — email, SMS, social, web, campaigns, product launches, and other collateral. Other assets available upon request.

Within a few months, the blog was transformed from a disconnected collection of stories into a strategic communications tool that leveraged SEO and aligned with all marketing efforts across the organization, including partnerships, community, social, and customer service.
